Foreword:

The Tyranny Belle Subscription Service published original Tyranny Belle content on a weekly basis for a little over a year and a half: the first TBSS email went out in July 2007; the final installment was published in January of 2009.

Contributors included Tyranny Belle Records artists such as Children's Masterpiece Theatre and Rusty Pipes, an assortment of ad hoc re-arrangements of Tyranny Belle players recording under names such as Benny and the Been Downs and Gypsy Davey and the Angelic Three and even friends of Tyranny Belle artists, such as Detroit's Noman and stand-up comedian Charlie Kasov.

The main purpose of the TBSS was to serve as the distribution mechanism for Tyranny Belle Records, which itself was based upon the idea that music should be distributed completely free of charge. Each installment of the TBSS included an email with links to downloadable MP3 content and a short description of the "attached" track. At its height, the TBSS mailing list included more than 300 unique subscriber addresses.
